This gorgeous coral bead jewelry set includes one 16" necklace and one 8" bracelet. The coral is genuine, natural and undyed. Both pieces are circa 1960s-1970s, probably from Hong Kong, and in very good to excellent vintage condition.

The necklace is crafted with 7.5mm diameter salmon colored - Pacific pink coral beads and with three Chinese hand carved coral shou barrel beads measuring 24.56mm(l) x 11.50mm(w), 23.50mm(l) x 11.50mm(w), and 22.50mm(l) x 11.50mm(w). The barrel beads have 3mm gold tone spacer beads and 7.5mm coral spacer beads on each end of the barrel beads. The necklace is secured with a gold tone decorated round coral ball bead clasp.

Carved shou beads feature the Chinese character shou, which means "long life". The shou character is a Chinese longevity symbol and is considered one of the five good fortune symbols, along with wealth, happiness, prosperity, and good luck. It is a traditional Chinese belief that the presence of a visual symbol like the shou character could have a specific effect on the wearer's life. 

The coral beaded bracelet included with this set is crafted using 5.5mm diameter salmon colored-Pacific pink coral beads, 9.00mm diameter angel skin coral beads and 4mm round and oblong gold tone beads. The bracelet measures 8" in length and is secured with a lobster style clasp. #90
