A distinctive vintage diamond bridal set from Shane Co., featuring a substantial 1.11-carat natural princess-cut diamond surrounded by an elegant asymmetrical arrangement of marquise and round diamonds.

Crafted in 14K yellow gold, the engagement ring and matching wedding band are soldered together, creating a beautifully balanced two-ring design with an organic, almost floral quality. Rather than following the traditional symmetrical halo or solitaire design, the diamonds sweep gracefully around the center stone in an unusual asymmetrical composition.

At the center is a 1.11-carat princess-cut diamond, documented by Shane Co. as L color, SI1 clarity. The square modified-brilliant cut displays an intriguing pattern of bright and darker facets, giving the center stone considerable visual personality.

The surrounding diamonds include six marquise-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.64 carats and five round diamonds totaling approximately 0.06 carats, for approximately 0.70 carat total weight in accent diamonds.

Together, the set contains approximately 1.81 carats of diamonds. 

Shane Co. Documentation

This bridal set comes with the original Shane Co. documentation for the semi-mount diamond ring, and the princess cut solitaire diamond. 

The semi-mounted wedding set with .70 carats of accent diamonds was purchased from Shane Co. in 1992 and was documented as: Semi-Mounted Wedding Set in 14K yellow gold with six marquise diamonds at .64ct tw and five round diamonds at ,06ct tw,  total diamond weight is .70ct. The original documentation records the semi-mounted wedding set's purchase price at $1250.

The center princess-cut diamond was purchased separately from Shane Co. in 1992 and was documented as: 1.11-carat princess-cut diamond — L color, SI1 clarity.  The original documentation records the center diamond's purchase price at $3,215. 

A subsequent Shane Co. replacement appraisal was completed on September 21, 2002, and valued the complete bridal set at $5,650 for replacement purposes.

A Truly Unconventional Bridal Design

What makes this set particularly appealing is its departure from the conventional bridal styles of its era.

The marquise diamonds sweep around the princess-cut center in an asymmetrical, floral-inspired arrangement, while the accompanying band continues the movement of the design.
