Natural Red Serpentine Dragon & Phoenix Pendant

A striking natural red serpentine pendant featuring an intricate dragon and phoenix design surrounded by flowing cloud motifs. The circular medallion form and traditional imagery give this substantial pendant a beautiful connection to Chinese decorative arts, where the dragon and phoenix are enduring symbols of harmony, prosperity, beauty, and good fortune.

The natural red serpentine displays attractive translucency, with internal variations in color and vein-like structure that become especially beautiful when the pendant is viewed against light. The carving is detailed and dimensional on the front, while the reverse is smoothly finished and flat. Red serpentine is sometimes marketed under the trade name "red jade," although this pendant has been identified as serpentine.
