This baroque shaped cultured saltwater south sea pearl was purchased in Moorea, Tahiti about 40 years ago. In keeping true to a nautical theme, the 18 karat yellow gold custom crafted pendant setting was created in a free-form fashion to resemble a botanical seaweed design. To complete the look the pendant is suspended on a 18 karat yellow gold satin-finished mariner chain.

The pearl measures 12.82mm x 10.78mm x 22mm(l), the length is estimated due to limitations of the setting, has a silver bodycolor, no overtone, and a very nice luster. The pendant measures ~1.5"(l) with the bail x .5"(w) x .5"(d) and weighs 6.23 grams. The chain measures 3mm(w) x 25" (l) and weighs 17.06 grams. 

A GIA report was recently completed for the pearl and reveals the following:
