Antique Handcrafted Sard Cameo Ring in Mixed Karat Gold

A distinctive antique handcrafted cameo ring featuring a finely carved rectangular sard cameo depicting a classical female profile. The semi-translucent cameo is bezel set within a hand-fabricated mixed-karat gold mounting, showcasing the character and craftsmanship often found in 19th-century jewelry. 

The cameo measures approximately 8 x 12mm and rises about 4mm above the rectangular closed-back bezel. The rich brown sard displays attractive translucency and depth, highlighting the detailed carving. 

The mounting exhibits evidence of hand assembly and age, including mixed yellow and rose gold tones, natural patina, and old repair work consistent with antique jewelry. The upper mounting tests approximately 12K gold, while the shank tests approximately 10K gold, suggesting a period replacement or restoration performed during the ring's lifetime.
