This antique 1925 Elgin open-face mechanical windup pocket watch features a Regal case by Bates & Bacon (B&B), with a screw-off back. The time-keeping operation has been tested and found to be in working order. However, it is running a few minutes slow after twenty-four hours, not uncommon for antique pocket watches.

The serial number on the watch movement #27132689 indicates the following production information: production year was 1925, size is 12s, 7 jewels, grade 303, model 3, class 114, run quantity 20000, production dates: 1903 to 1939, open face configuration, pendant wind and set movement setting, and nickel damaskeening movement finish ("damaskeening" is the application of a decorative pattern on a watch movement). 

The serial number on the Regal case by Bates & Bacon #5855199 indicates the following production information: Stamped "Regal", "B&B" Records show that this Regal-grade case by Bates & Bacon was created in 1918, and that their Regal-grade cases were made using 8K gold-filled material. However, when tested, the metal did not test as gold, which may indicate it has worn off. #90
