Finely pierced platinum filigree set with original synthetic spinels, exemplifying the elegance and craftsmanship of the Art Deco era.

An elegant and authentic Art Deco filigree pendant crafted in platinum-topped 14K white gold, dating to the 1920s–1930s.

This finely pierced openwork pendant features a geometric octagonal center stone framed by two accent stones, all original to the piece. The stones are colorless synthetic spinels — a historically accurate and highly desirable gemstone used extensively in high-quality Art Deco jewelry.

The filigree workmanship is exceptionally crisp, with delicate milgrain detailing and beautifully balanced proportions characteristic of the period. Platinum was favored during the Art Deco era for its strength and ability to support intricate lace-like designs, and this piece showcases that craftsmanship beautifully.

The pendant is suspended from a 14K white gold chain, creating a refined and wearable antique necklace ready for modern styling.

Why Collectors Love Platinum Filigree

Platinum-topped filigree represents some of the finest metalwork of the Art Deco period. The metal allowed jewelers to create intricate, airy designs that remain durable nearly a century later. Pieces in this category are increasingly sought after for both their craftsmanship and historical authenticity.

The use of synthetic spinel in this era is not a replacement or later alteration — it is period-correct and part of the original design aesthetic of the 1920s and 1930s.
