This vintage 14K yellow gold saddle ring features a prominent, smooth, cabochon of apple green nephrite jade set horizontally across the top, following the curve of the finger. Crafted for durability and comfort, the ring has a low-profile front, an elongated  linear setting that both cradles and protects the stone, as well as preventing the ring from spinning by virtue of the wider surface area and the friction against the finger, and lastly, the selection of a hard gemstone known for its exceptional toughness.

Jade saddle rings are timeless, having a history dating back to the early 20th century, giving them a vintage appeal that remains to this day. The elongated east-west orientation highlights the most colorful or most transparent part of a jade stone, positioning it on top of the ring. The substantial, seamless design of the saddle ring combines traditional craftsmanship with a unisex style that is a hallmark of jade jewelry, making it a distinctive, sought-after piece. 

The nephrite jade stone set in this ring measures 17.0mm x 7.5mm and weighs approximately 3.33 carats. The shoulders of the ring feature three carved channels on each side that radiate upward toward the jade. Typical of saddle rings, the ring's design is simple but elegant. #90#A.
