This handcrafted, vintage beaded gemstone necklace features all-natural amethyst gemstones. The artisan used wire rather than a cord to construct this strand, providing superior strength, durability, and shape retention. Between the amethyst beads are ~4mm sterling silver spacer beads. At the center of the necklace is a custom-crafted sterling silver pendant measuring 1.25 inches in length. The custom setting features a tubular bail, a rectangular gemstone setting, and a sterling silver demi-lune shape with bead accents between the bail and the gemstone. The rectangular setting contains one rectangular amethyst cabochon measuring 10.95mm (w) x 13.60mm (l) x 7.10mm (d).

The beaded design of this necklace features ~6.0mm round amethyst beads and 7-8mm x 12mm (l) concave-barrel chevron amethyst beads, each separated by ~4mm sterling silver spacer beads. Chevron amethyst, also referred to as banded amethyst, is highly sought after and popular. Still, because it's rarer, it's seen less often than purple amethyst. This specific type of crystal is primarily found in Brazil, India, and Russia. Chevron amethyst features distinct white banding in the shape of a chevron and typically displays color variations of white, violet, and purple.

The necklace measures 18 inches in length, is secured with a lobster-style clasp, and, because it is vintage, the sterling silver has the typical warm patina that comes with aging. A matching bracelet and earrings were also consigned and are priced separately.
