Finished in a warm medium wood veneer, this piece features an expansive work surface with fold-out extensions and a recessed platform designed to accommodate a sewing machine. Multiple storage options include three drawers, open shelving, and a swing-out cabinet fitted with angled racks for organizing supplies. Mounted on casters for mobility, the design allows the workspace to be easily repositioned as needed.

 

Authentication: The only label on this unit shows "Model 8090A.91".  There is no other manufacturer mark or label on it.  So we contacted Horn of America with photos of this unit and asked them to authenticate it, which they did providing the following response and additional information: 

 Yes —that’s one of our cabinets.   The Model is 8090A and the “.91” is the color code (in this case, Sunset Maple, a rich red woodgrain color).  The Date on the cabinet shows that it was among the earliest production runs of this model to roll off the assembly line.  Here’s some information about the cabinet:

-          This was our top-of-the-line cabinet model until it was replaced in 2025 by the Horn Model 9090A cabinet.

-          This cabinet was made in the USA (in Sutton, WV to be exact).

-          This cabinet has a 31” cut-out on top and so it uses a 31” Horn Insert (a plexiglass piece that surrounds the sewing machine to make it flush with the work surface).  Horn inserts can be ordered from any Horn Dealer (Montavilla Sewing in Lake Oswego is the closest one to your area).  The insert must be made for the customer’s specific make and model of sewing machine.

-          This cabinet features Horn’s famous electric lift called the “Whisper Lift” which is rated for 80 lbs and is super smooth and quiet.

-          Replacement parts are available for this cabinet if something goes wrong with it.  Replacement parts wouldn’t be covered under the warranty because the cabinet is second-hand.

-          This cabinet was built to last out of super high quality parts and components.  The motor for the electric lift is an expensive German-made motor and all the hardware on the cabinet is high-end stuff.

-          The original MSRP of this cabinet when new was $4799.00.


A copy of the original paperwork that came with the cabinet is included as a .pdf file.  The new owner will probably want it.  The first page is the parts drawing which tells you all the part numbers just in case you need a replacement part.
