This high-end 18 karat yellow gold pendant depicts a timeless symbol seen in jade, the Guan Yin. The goddess represents compassion, kindness and mercy. It is believed that the goddess has vowed to save and protect the wearer, and in addition, the Guan Yin pendant encourages the wearer to practice patience and kindness on a daily basis. The jadeite jade carving measures ~ 2.0"(l) x 1.125" - .25"(w) and weighs approximately 78-80 carats.The 18 karat yellow gold setting has been beautifully crafted with ornate details. Along the top and bottom of the pendant are set thirty-seven round brilliant cut diamonds that adorn the goddess' headdress and the lotus upon which she sits. The diamonds weigh .85 carats are of a bright white G-H color and SI clarity. The back of the pendant features an elaborate and substantial 18 karat yellow gold open back design that protects the breadth of the carving. The carving is exceptional and the pendant is in excellent condition. The overall dimensions of the pendant are 2.875" x 1.125".#A.The consignor has advised that the jade was graded as Type B jade by Bonhams, meaning that the original color of the jade has not been altered.
